While we’re in an apartment and living paycheck to paycheck like most Americans, I tend to disregard money when it comes to Camden’s safety. Cam has been riding in the SnugFit carrier / car seat / stroller system from Graco. While it has been great, he’s been getting too heavy and too long to stay in the Graco for any extended periods of time.
Knowing full well that we needed to upgrade, we started looking into the Britax convertible seats. Earlier today we decided to take advantage of Massachusetts’s tax free day along with some of his gift money from his baptism. At the end of the day, we owned a Britax Boulevard and paid less than $8 out of pocket.
The Britax is now installed in the Xterra, and so far Cam is loving the new seat. He’s sitting up a bit more, and words cannot describe the quality difference in the seats. If you’ve never taken a solid look at a Britax because of the price factor — do yourself the favor and just browse. Every detail has been covered, and the quality is amazing.
Being a convertible seat too, Cam can remain rear-facing until he’s a year or so old and then use the same seat in a forward facing position. The only cons that I’ve found so far was some limited rear view miirror obstruction. So, if you’re in the market for a new seat, give the Britax line a quick review, and I’m sure you’ll find them to be amazing…
